8/30 - 8/31

Donna and I took Kylie to the zoo today (8/30). It also happened to be the first day the Oregon Zoo allowed visitors to see the new baby elephant. This meant overflow parking and school-busses for shuttles. It was Kylie's first time on a school bus, and it was novel for her. She enjoyed the bus ride... and of course we sang "wheels on the bus".

This is where Kylie needs to be part of the action too.

Our frumpy old man, Kelsey. At least that what she looks like with the wrinkles in her forehead.

Smiley Kylie eating something good.

Biggest figuring out what to make of the new baby. I think he realizes that he's been bumped down another notch on the scale of importance. Sorry Biggest.

Kelsey napping on Donna. A sleeping baby is a thing to appreciate (and I'm sure we'll have lots of those photos for awhile).

Often times Kelsey will be sleeping with her arms raised up... bestowing blessing upon us all... or in this case, practicing her hula. I think that's the Poi Poi move?

Miss Kelsey.

And her first "sponge" bath at home. We weren't allowed to get her belly button wet for 2 weeks. If you dig back in the archives, you'll see that Kylie didn't like her first bath either.

Kylie loves to hold her sister whenever possible.

And it was great to have Donna ("Nanny") around. She was a big help, and I think it really helped Kylie transition as well.
Shouldn't Kylie being riding the tri-cycle?

The new Carlson 4.

My three girls.

The next day, Logan, Matea, and Shelley came over for a visit. I ran interference with the kids, and they set themselves up for this pose.

8/22 - 8/25

The night before the scheduled induction we went to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner.

Here's Traci waiting to be taken to her birthing suite.

And of course here's Kelsey. She always has a way of sneaking a hand out of her swaddle.

And this is just prior to taking Kelsey home from the hospital.

Kylie giving momma some love.

Nanny's here... taking a trip to the Pirate Park.

The day before scheduled Induction. Kylie that's your sister that you are about to meet.

Kylie giving us her smile, just before taking another lick of her lime wedge. (a taste she discovered in Cancun last year).

We took Kylie to the airshow again this year, but actually paid the $40 for our family to get in (over-priced). Kylie enjoyed the show, but also picked up the new phrase, "too loud."

Kylie trying out a jump seat in a Marine helicopter.

And proof that we were there and Kylie outlasted her afternoon nap time.

7/19 - 7/29

Trip to first Mariner's game at Safeco field. Amazingly, she didn't care much for the cotton candy.

After the game we hung out and stayed with Adrian and Akiko. Kylie still loves playing their piano.

Kylie playing at U-Village before we went out to breakfast at "Atlas"

And Here's Traci's belly at the end of July.

Cousins Kylie and Melina on the lake. Shortly thereafter Kylie stripped down to go skinny dipping in the lake.

Grandpa Craig and Kylie swinging in the sweltering heat of Missoula.

Having fun on the tire swing.

7/13 Montana Trip

Waiting for breakfast at the Lodge.

Riding the carousel in Missoula. It's a nice one, but doesn't compare is rotational velocity to the Centre island carousel in Toronto.

Worn out "Proud Father of the Groom."

Cousins Melina and Kylie saying goodbye. For a short while after this trip, everytime Kylie would see a bus or RV, she'd say "Melina, baby Mari?"
