Fresh Photos of Kelsey Thi Carlson

Here she is... Kelsey Thi Carlson

Born August 23rd, 2008
5:28 PM
8 lbs 5 oz.
20" long
13.8 cm head diameter

Our day began at 7:30AM at the Hospital.
Induction began closer to 9AM.
Epidural began around 2:30PM  and after that Traci went from 3cm to 10cm dilated.
The labor was relatively quick, and Traci was such an efficient pusher that they had to slow her down to keep a nice controlled descent for Kelsey (and to avoid any unnecessary tissue damage).  It did occur again, but not as bad as with Kylie.  The doctor was glad that they scheduled Traci for when the did... Kelsey was a big baby relatively speaking.

You can see from the Photos that Kelsey has a nice set of hair, and a cute little nose like Kylie did. In fact they look kind of similar as newborns. (except for the nearly 2lb difference).

Baby Induction Begins

I realize that I'm still a month behind in our family blog... but for those that have been following know that Traci's due date was August 26th, but for various reasons we are able to undergo voluntary induction.

We got up early this morning and had a tasty breakfast at McDonald's, and I followed it up with a delicious Starbuck's beverage before heading over to the Labor and Delivery Ward at 7:30 AM.

They just began the Oxytocin (Pitosin) IV feed a little while ago, so things are on their way. Stay tuned for further updates...

7/11 part 3 of day 1

Proof that we made it!

Proud mom and David.

Some catching up at the Lake House Cabin.

And some fun around the Bonfire. It was a good time for all.

7/11 part 2 of day 1

Kylie giving her Flamenco look on the dance floor.

Melina and Kylie doing a dry run at the rehearsal.

Laughing like cousins.

Do you remember Sesame Street? One of these kids is doing his own thing, one of these kids is not like the other... can you guess who?

7/11 Montana Wedding Day 1

Back in July, we made the roadtrip to Montana for Traci's brother's wedding (David). David and Shannon were to marry at Holland Lake Lodge, which is on (guess?) Holland Lake. Holland Lake is about 1.5 hours from Missoula and just past Seeley Lake.

This is the view from the Lake House Cabin. It's a beautiful lodge setting, and very fitting for a Montana wedding.

Kylie and Traci holding Baby Mari, and cousin Melina. Kylie loves baby Mari.

I think Melina likes her baby sister too.

Here, Nanny painted Kylie's toenails for the first time. Kylie did a remarkable job sitting still (at least for my expectations).

7/6 - 7/11

Kylie trying on some Mr. Potato Head Glasses for size.

And taking her slumped over dolly for a walk.

Kylie before we depart on our Road Trip to Montana. It's a long drive in a small car.

Kylie striking some natural poses of her own at one of the many rest stops we visited along the way. I think this one was in Montana.

7/3 - 7/5

Kylie all dressed up to go to the zoo.

Here we are walking to the neighborhood July 4th parade and celebration. After 5+ years in this neighborhood. This is the first time we've gone to check it out... and it's bigger than I would've thought. This is also the day after I tweaked my back doing nothing more than turning, twisting, and lowering to put one of Kylie's book's away on the bookshelf. It sucks getting old (I know there's more of that kind of stuff to come). Lucky for me I was able to use Kylie's stroller as a bit of a crutch.

I'm not sure what's going on here, besides looking cute?

This is "Baby" the cat. Whenever I file stuff or have newspaper out, she likes to come lay down on it. Somehow, she must think she's more important than whatever I'm doing?

6/28 - 6/29

Matt faciliating Kylie's first underwater adventure. She did really well with holding her breath. Hopefully she'll start swimming by next year.

Brittany and her friend Anna were great about playing with Kylie.

Kylie and Gavin trying to escape from this party.

We paid a visit to a new park... Commonwealth Park. It has a large Pond in the middle and a trail around it. It's a nice park and is off the beaten path. Kylie was showing mom some affection here as we nearly complete our lap around the pond.

6/24 - 6/28

A little outdoor picnic lunch with Logan and Matea

On the 28th, I drove up to Snohomish, WA to celebrate my cousin Britttany's high school graduation. Here Trang is pushing on Kylie on the swing... and clearly she's loving it.

It was an incredibly hot day (for the Seattle area), I didn't pack a bathing suit for Kylie 'cause I didn't know that Jung had a swimming pool. Good thing for Kylie we were able Borrow some little swimmers from her little cousin Gavin.

Is there any room to swim in this pool?

6/15 Father's Day Part 2

Taking time to smell the flowers

Good times.

Finishing every last bit of that brownie cookie.

And trying on her new princess shoes... they are kind of slick on the hardwood floors and it was hilarious watching her walk around the house in these shoes.

6/15 Father's Day

We kept it simple this year and went to Shari's for a Sunday Father's Day Breakfast. Calories were of no concern this day... and the food was surpisingly good!

The kids got a free brownie cookie treat...and clearly they were pleased!

Here's kylie at home showing off her teeth.
