June 18th (set 2)

Kylie kicking back in the chair and giving a wave.

And laughing and giggling.

Here she's running her toy lawn mower. It has some real-life sounds, which makes it a pretty cool update to the classic popcorn popper mower that we all grew up with.

Too bad Traci's parents didn't get to enjoy any of the nice weather we had after they left. Here's Biggest smiling.

And Kylie climbing up into the chair.

And she was successful. She loves to climb up on stuff. It may be a challenge to keep her from trying to climb up on bookcases, she's tried already. Maybe she'll learn? Oh yes, I also noticed that Baby the cat is in the garden window peering out at the action.

June 17th (set 4)

It's an unofficial tradition that whenever we have a celebratory dinner, we end up going to the Outback Steakhouse... why this is, I have no idea. I know Traci likes steak, and I love their heart-attack-on-a-plate Cheese Fries. We got there early enough that we didn't have to deal with the dinner rush. And the food was good. I ordered baby back ribs, something I wouldn't normally have ordered, and they were del.icio.us.

We forgot to let Kylie open the gift from Traci and I... if you can't read the label. It is a set of people and animals from the Arctic region of the world. The toy store near us (Piccolo Mondo Toys - Small World Toys) carries different sets of these that represent the many different regions of the world.

Here's Kylie diving in to play.

Here's Kylie streaking across the kitchen...

Pig-tails in, ready to go...

We decided to make a trip downtown to check out the relatively new Aerial Tram. It goes between John's Landing on the waterfront, and OHSU up on the hill.

Here's the view looking down the tram. The Ross Island Bridge is at left. Supposedly this South waterfront area is going to grow into the next Pearl district. It does have streetcar access, which is a good thing.

The two dads and Kylie enjoying the view.

Happy Father's Day.

Here's the card that Kylie made me for Father's day. Technically, it's my second Father's day, but this one is special. Traci and Kylie got me a annual membership to the Children's museum. In fact we got a family membership. So those days that I'm home with Kylie on the weekends, I can take her to the children's museum and explore... maybe finish that train I was working on?

I'm definitely proud to be your Papa, Kylie.

Kylie also made a Father's day card for her Grandpa Jack.

Here they are sharing in the joy of the moment.

Way to tear into that cupcake baby.

And good job sharing with mommy...

This is what Kylie got Ryan for his birthday. Hopefully he'll get some good use out of it.

Kylie is sweeping her tongue looking for that last morsel of frosting after mommy just wiped her face clean.

As you can see, I'm still busy assembling the track...

I eventually broke my concentration and followed Kylie over here to the metro bus display.

Then it was time for cupcakes! Go Ryan.

Dig in Kylie.

June 16th (set 1)

Kylie was getting upstaged by some older kids... but she wasn't upset, just more interested on what these medium sized people were doing?

I let Kylie feel the blast of warm air from the air dryer, she was loving it.

We later found our way to a story telling area. The guy either reads a story, sings a song, encourages the kids to dance. Kylie fit right in.

Later I found the train table... I don't know what Kylie was doing, but I was busy assembling the wooden track.

June 15th - 16th

Here's Traci hard at work, helping Kylie open up all her birthday gifts. As she says, "half the fun is getting to play with all the new toys too."

On Saturday, we got to celebrate Ryan's 1st birthday. Mike and Laurie decided to have a small celebration at the Children's Musuem. Better here than the Zoo since it had decided to rain in a torrential downpour.

"Happy birthday Ryan."

There's some fun stuff at the children's museum. I think as Kylie gets older she'll start to appreciate it more. This was a water-works kind of exhibit.

Yes, there are still more pictures from Kylie's birthday. Here are a few more from our other camera.

Kylie in motion.

Attempting a summersault. She's been trying, but hasn't succeeded without assistance. This time, she sort of got part way up then rolled over onto her side.

Here's one of the cool gifts from Traci's sister, Heather, it requires no batteries, just gravity. The ladybug sort of rocks back and forth on its way down the incline. It's very cool.

Grandpa Craig got Kylie this flying monkey. Initially Kylie was scared of it because when it crashes it makes a loud shrill monkey sound. It's a fun toy (now that we know how to shoot it).

June 15th (set 8)

The aftermath of the tornado that blew through our family room.

Here's our friend Jeb demonstrating his tongue trick, and Kylie trying to mimick him.

Nice hair baby... and who's foot is that?
