2/9 - 2/10 Bahamas

2/9/08: Saturday
Another red-eye flight 11:50 AM departure. Sadly, Continental changed their flight schedules since we booked our original flight, which forced us into a 3-hop flight. Portland to Houston, Houston to Ft. Lauderdale, Ft. Lauderdale to Nassau Bahamas!

2/10/08: Sunday
Our last flight was on a Beechcraft puddle-jumper. We arrived just before 1PM in Nassau and despite some nasty looking thunder clouds, the weather was nice! After we cleared Customs, we met up with Traci’s sister Heather, Tony, and their daughter (our niece) Melina.
We picked up a Taxi with no problems from the airport to drive us to the resort. Approximately 30 minutes or less. Grand total $42 for 4 adults 2 kids and 6 bags ($27 + $3*3adults + $1*6bags). Not bad at all.

After getting settled into our rooms we took a stroll around the property. We took the long-way around and cruised along the harbor and the docks among multi-million dollar yachts (aka mini-cruise ships). I’m amazed that boats of that size can even navigate their way into the harbor considering that the channel into the harbor is fairly shallow (maybe 15’ deep).
