April 16 - 26th Kauai (Set 1)

If you haven't already seen these photos. These are just a few highlights of our trip highlights. I have uploaded a larger set of photos to our Picasaweb album. The link is in the sidebar on the right now. It's http://picasaweb.google.com/chris.r.carlson/.

Traci's parents invited us to join them at their timeshare in Kauai this spring. We once stayed at their timeshare before when Traci graduated from College. The timeshare used to be the Embassy Resort in Poipu, but now it is called "The Point at Poipu". It's a very nice resort, in a very nice location off of Pe'e road. Poipu beach (or at least this section of the island of Kauai) has been consistently rated in the top 10 beaches in the US... and is also the most family friendly beach (according to the travel channel). We love Hawaii... so off we go!

Happy Birthday Traci! I won't write how old she is out of respect :)
Yes, unfortunately we spent Traci's birthday traveling. 6.5 hours of flying. And somewhere over the Pacific, about mid-way into our flight, Kylie started coming down with a fever. We didn't know how high, but she was warm to the touch. The good news, is that she was still happy and dealt with our cramped quarters on the plane.

At last, we've arrived. 5:30PM island time!

Here's the view from our "garden view" Lanai. The Grand Hyatt is across the way on shipwreck beach.

Here's Traci doing a little hula demonstration in the island spirit.
