10/10 Cancun Day 3
Today was much better than yesterday. We saw the sun rise from our bed… Just seeing the sun in the morning ensured it was going to be a better day. I’m feeling better today, not 100%, but functional. I’ve got a bit of a hoarseness in my breath, but I don’t think this is whooping cough, probably whatever Heather had (note to self, must be better about handwashing, etc). No fever either. We started our day with a hearty breakfast at the El Palomar restaurant downstairs. I opted for the Buffet, Traci had the “American Breakfast” (2 eggs, sausage or bacon, and hasbrowns). The buffet spread was impressive, many options. The only disappointments were the pancakes and mini-waffles. They were both very dry, maybe they had been out too long?
Ever since Kylie had some of my orange juice on the plane, she now wants juice whenever we have juice. We caved and ordered her some apple juice. Apparently it’s “fresh squeezed” apple juice. No extra sugar, which is good.
After coming back to the room, we did an about face and headed for the pool. Kylie and I were in the pool for quite awhile. Eventually Kylie wound down for her nap and took her nap pool side. We spent the day from 11AM until 5:30PM by the pool. We met up with our German friends again, and met various other people.
Later this evening, we took a walk… maybe 2 miles. The sidewalk along Kulkulcan blvd are not good for stroller walks. They are riddled with large curbs, broken concrete, and other obstacles. The construction guys at the resort under construction like to whistle at women as they pass by. They did this for Traci yesterday as she walked the beach, and again this evening with me as we walked by.
We opted to order dinner in again, Traci wasn’t very hungry after having a late lunch by the pool. She just wanted chips & salsa plus her Vanilla Crème brulee, which she informed me was a disappointment compared to last night.
Kylie was anxious to get going to the pool and hopped in her float.

And from the beach.
We have yellow a flag meaning it's safe to enter at your own risk.
The Caribbean was nice and warm... sometimes warmer than the pool water.
Johanna, swimming over to say hi to Kylie.
This is on the lagoon side of the Westin, as we began our walk.
This is a little further up Kulkulcan Blvd, as we caught the sunset.
