Sabbatical Blog: 10/6 Huntington Beach, CA

10/6 Huntington Beach, CA
Today we headed south towards Huntington Beach to spend time with Traci’s longtime friends Kendra and Don Johnson along with their two daughters, Zoe and Liberty.

We took a short trip to Huntington Beach did some people watching. We took the kids to the beach front and let Kylie dip her feet in the Ocean. Which she was enjoying so much… long enough for my lower back to start hurting from holding her up (only to keep her from sitting down in the wet sand/ocean). A young gal came up to us and asked if she could photograph the kids feet as part of a photography assignment. We let her.

We witnessed a marriage proposal via a banner plane. “Lisha, will you marry me?” There was clearly something going on, ‘cause this guy had a photographer and a whole bunch of people up on the pier to video tape the moment. I think the answer was yes?

We also saw some of B-Boy kids dancing near the beach walk. Later, they started doing running dance flips over several garbage barrels.

Kylie trying to determine the direction and intensity of the wind using her tongue?

From left to right: Zoe, Kendra, Liberty, Don, Traci, and Kylie. These are the steps right next to the Huntington Beach pier.

Kylie full of energy.

It was a beautiful afternoon in Huntington Beach. I really like this photo.

Here is an action shot of one of those B-boys mid-air.
